The position of the camera when installing it is absolutely crucial as the area of interest where license plates can be collected is quite small. The approaching vehicle must be travelling at less than 5 mph (8 KPH).
Also the camera must be mounted at a height of less than 3m but no lower than 1m and the angle to the plate should be maximum of 20 degrees.
If this criteria is not met the read accuracy of the software will become inaccurate and settings in the software will have to be set to allow for miss reads.
The primary use of this camera would be for access control such as motorised gates and barriers so in order to slow the approaching vehicle down it may be necessary to install traffic calming measures such as speed bumps.
There is an output on the the camera for triggering gate etc and this is 12v DC at 20mA so you will need to fit a transistorised relay and here is how it would be connected.
