How to transfer an instance of SSM from one PC to another

 

Take a backup of the configuration on the old machine:

On the new machine (with SSM installed), add a Media Gateway to the system. Take note of the MAC address

Restore the configuration from the old machine:

This will import the device form the old SSM configuration, however it will also import the old Media Gateway settings including its MAC address. This will cause the Media Gateway to change to an offline state. To change this the MAC address needs to be changed to reflect the MAC address of the new Media Gateway.

 

Browse to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Samsung\SSM\MediaGateway

Or

C:\Program Files (x86)\Wisenet\SSM\MediaGateway

In this folder open the config.ini file and delete the old MAC address and add the MAC address of the new Media Gateway:

Restart the SSM services and the devices from the old SSM instance should now appear in the new SMS instance.
