This article will explain how to set up PTZ presets, enable a tour, ensure auto tracking is enabled for the presets and how to ensure the camera returns to its tour after an operator moves the camera
Auto tracking is a feature where a person and/or a vehicle is tracked by the PTZ, in the scene. Please be aware the camera takes 5-7 seconds to learn the scene; therefore it can take 5-7 seconds for auto tracking to start. The dwell time for camera presets needs to reflect this and should be set to a value of at least 10 seconds.
Set up the camera presets in the PTZ Setup menu. Ensure you set the Follow-Up Action to 'Auto-Tracking >Auto Run'
This will execute the Auto Run option after tracking has finished
To place the presets in a tour, you need to use the Group option
A note on Hanwha terminology, a Group is most commonly known as a tour, a Tour in the PTZ setup is a group of tours i.e. a groups of Groups
Add the presets in the sequence you want them to go to. Ensure the dwell time is set to at least 10 seconds to allow Auto-Tracking to initialise.
Next, set up the Auto Run option.
Set the Mode as Group, this will ensure the Group i.e. sequence of presets is activated after Auto-Tracking stops
To enable Auto-Tracking, go to the Auto-Tracking menu and click the Auto-Tracking button. It will change to orange when it is on
Start the Group i.e. sequence of presets:
The PTZ will now go to each preset in turn.
You should see a T in the upper RHS, this will be displayed approximately 5-7 seconds after the PTZ has gone to the preset, this shows Auto-Tracking is on and activated:
When an operator moves the PTZ, the PTZ will remain at that position for the dwell time and then the Auto Run option i.e. Group will start and the PTZ will continue cycling through the sequence of presets while also activating Auto-Tracking
