This article highlights the cause of being locked out of a camera due to exceeded maximum amount of logins
Users may find when accessing a camera's webpage that they are receiving an error which states that they have exceeded the maximum amount of logins - even when entering the correct credentials.
This message will appear if too many devices or VMS software are trying to access the Hanwha device. This message will also appear when at least one of them tries to access the device with incorrect credentials.
Things to check:
- Is the camera accessible when connected
- Does the issue only appear when connected to the LAN
- Is the camera connected to a recorder
- Is a VMS software such as WAVE accessing the camera
- Is the device a replacement and shares the same IP as a previous camera
The system logs will provide us with more details on which users (the IP addresses) are logged in or trying to access the device.
In addition the status information page will also provide the user with details which streams are being streamed.
If the error does not appear when accessing the camera directly and the logs indeed show that various IPs are trying to access the device, below is how to resolve this:
- Firstly identify which devices are accessing the device for security purposes
- Please delete the camera off connected VMS software and other recording devices were possible
- Assign a different IP address to the device (factory reset may be required) and add the device back
Please note - For security purposes this type of error message cannot be disabled
