The WRN range (WAVE PoE NVR) runs on Ubuntu (Linux OS based on Debian branch of distributions)
To change the Keyboard & OS language, please follow the below steps:
NOTE - An active internet connection to the WRN recorder is needed for this process
- Power on and log into WAVE PoE NVR
- Go to Ubuntu settings in any of the following ways:
- Using keyboard:
- Press the Start/Windows key on your keyboard
- Type settings and press Enter
- Using mouse (1 of 2)
- Click on the 9-dot icon in the bottom left corner
- Click on Settings

- Click on the down facing arrow in the top right hand corner
- Select the Settings icon

- Using keyboard:
- Ubuntu Settings > Select Language and Region
(Both keyboard layout and language packs can be managed in this menu)
Adding a keyboard layout
From the Language and Region under Input Source click on the + button

From the Add an Input Source window, click on the THREE dots

Figure 5. Scroll down the list and select 'Other'
You can search for a language by simply entering the language via a connected keyboard, or scroll through the list of languages.

Once the language has been added added it will be added in the 'Input Sources' section.
Input language priority can be changed by moving the desired language up or down.

Adding a Language pack to Linux
From Settings > Language and Region click on 'Manage Installed Languages' button

From the Installed Languages windows, you can search for a desired language by entering is via a connected keyboard or scroll through the list.

Select the desired language by checking the box under the Installed column and click Apply

Figure 12. Once the language is added, click on the button 'Apply system-wide'
You will be prompted to authenticate in order to apply the changes, enter the Linux OS user password.

Once the language and input sources are install, you can change the Language and Formats as per the below Figure 15.

Finally, restart the WAVE PoE NVR to complete the changes made.
