Enable motion detection in the Event section
If you need to set up the motion detection area, sensitivity and object size, this must be done via the camera setup page

Set up a rule to record motion detection events: 

(The event action can be left blank)

Ensure the camera is recording Events or Continuous & Events: 

The camera will now record on motion, this is visible on the camera timeline:

Troubleshooting

If it is not working, check the camera logs and NVR logs to ensure motion detection events are actually occurring. You may need to configure the object size and sensitivity parameters to suit the level of detection
