A Windows issue has been identified which causes the Wave Client application to close and report an error with the video drivers.
While Microsoft work on resolving these issues, there are workaround steps we can take to improve the stability of the workstation.
These steps include -
- Updating the workstation drivers.
- Bringing Windows patching up to date.
- Configuring the Wave application for maximum graphics performance.
- Disabling Windows Visual Performance features.
- Updating Wave to the latest version.

Follow these steps to configure Wave for maximum graphics performance.
From the start menu, search for Graphics Settings.
In the Graphic settings, click browse under Classic app and browse to the location of the WAVE Client.
Click on Options.
Select High Performance and click Save, then close the Graphics Settings screen.
Follow these steps to disable Windows Visual Performance features.
Use the Windows key and type sysdm.cpl and press enter to launch System Properties.
Navigate to the Advanced tab and click on Performance Settings.
Select Adjust for best performance, click Apply and Ok.
Updating Wave to the latest version. (currently 4.2.0.34257 February 2022)
Navigate to the System Administration page, select Updates and Update to specific Build.
Use the below credentials.
Build Number - 34257
Password - 5d8jtw
Click Download, then Click Install Update, Wave will now update to the latest current version.
