Wisenet Wave has the ability to automatically show locally discovered servers in the Wave client at the log in prompt.
This is not the same as cloud based servers connected via WaveSync.
A WaveSync connected server will have an orange cloud icon (pictured above).
Locally connected servers are discovered using broadcast packets across the network.
If a Wave server is not being detected it is often down to broadcast packets being blocked.
Broadcast packets are typically blocked when network traffic crosses VLANs and VPNs.
An internet gateway also blocks broadcast packets which is why this discovery method will only work for locally connected systems.
Certain network environments may block broadcast traffic as a security requirement.
WireShark can be a useful tool to test if broadcast packets are being received on the Wave client.
