Wave servers and clients need to be time synced together to operate correctly.
- In environments where there is an internet connection available to Wave, the clients and servers will automatically sync to the Wave Internet Time Clock (NTP) service.
- If Wave has been deployed in an environment where there is no Internet or access to an NTP is restricted, special attention is required to make sure the time and date on the Wave server matches with the Wave clients.
- It is also important to check the time zone settings.
For example, the WRN series recorder is shipped with an EST time zone configured which is 5 hours behind GMT.
If there is no internet/NTP available and the time zone is not correct, a symptom of this is the green time line is Wave client not showing.
You can check your time and date settings in Wave in System Administration - Time Sync.
If Internet time is not available, Wave will show any servers you have connected along with the time zone and differences in time.
