In some network condition, it is possible to not be able to add a Hanwha NVR to Wisenet Viewer using P2P, but it is connected Successfully using Wisenet Mobile on the same external connection.
Wisenet Viewer 1.05
Wisenet Mobile added the device and able to view live video, but it has a R-Triangle on the screen.
This icons indicate the video is streamed to the client via RELAY mode.
Typically, P2P (Peer-to-Peer) communication uses STUN (Session Traversal Utilities for NAT) to establish a direct connection between devices. If that doesn't work due to network restrictions (like strict NATs or firewalls), it falls back to TURN (Traversal Using Relays around NAT), which routes the connection through a server.
Wisenet Viewer v1.05 only supports STUN, so when the connection switches to TURN (Relay mode), the video stream will not display. Wisenet Mobile works fine because it supports both STUN and TURN.
To fix this, your customer should enable port forwarding on their router to allow the necessary ports for P2P communication to be open. Make sure the following ports are open:
- Ports: 80, 443, 558 (for NVR access)
- Ports: 3478, 3479, 32768–65535 (STUN & TURN)
- Ports: 5000, 4000 (WebRTC signaling)
Once the port forwarding is set up, Wisenet Viewer should work properly.
